The self-healing model at FreeSelfHealing.org was originally founded upon the principles and practices of psychology alone. Over time, it evolved to integrate the power of spirituality, creating an alternative psychospiritual path to healing. Both are equally effective, and visitors are free to choose whichever path resonates most.
For those who have seen Pixar’s Inside Out films, the concept of subpersonalities — the psychological “parts” of identity residing in the subconscious — is already familiar. The goal of healing is to bring these inner characters into harmony with one another. As described in The Essence of Healing, it is the application of unconditional love that enables this integration and healing to occur.
The difference between psychological and psychospiritual approaches only lies in the source of that love.
Psychological self-healing draws upon the love that exists within the individual.
Psychospiritual self-healing draws upon love from a Divine representative — whether that’s a God, Goddess, Saint, the Holy Spirit, Mother Nature, a Spirit Guide, one’s own Higher Self, an Angel, a departed loved-one, or even an imaginary friend.
The source of spiritual love doesn’t matter. What matters is that the chosen representative of the Divine embodies unconditional love free from judgment.
Self-healing is a matter of accessing unconditional love and delivering it to where healing is necessary — and everyone is free to choose the way they access that love.
