Why Self-Healing is Needed

There is no shortage of psychological and spiritual suffering in the world, but there is a shortage of resources to heal this suffering. That is why wisdom and skills for self healing are needed.

The gap between need and supply for personal healing has always existed. The majority of the world’s population lacks access to psychological and spiritual healing resources. Even where those resources are most available, such as in the United States, the gap is growing wider. This became abundantly evident during the 2020 Covid pandemic. This global crisis caused a spike in anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and relationship conflicts that was unprecedented.

 

Countless adults, teenagers, children, couples, and families were all seeking mental health services that were nowhere to be found. Therapists were quickly overwhelmed by the demand and closed their practices to new clients. Church attendance dropped precipitously due to the need for social distancing. It was this crisis that precipitated the creation of this website and these resources.

There are two things that make Free Self-Healing different from the majority of self-help literature available. The first is that everything here is completely free. The second is that there is a difference between self-help and self-healing.

There are many medicines that help control the symptoms of a cold, but nothing that can heal us from a cold. Healing is a process that goes deeper to the roots of where we are broken or sick and restores us to our natural states of wholeness. Healing is a more transformative experience because it occurs in the depths of the subconscious mind and the spiritual soul.

A final reason why self-healing is needed is because humanity is suffering from widening divisions that are unhealthy for individuals, relationships, communities, societies, and countries. Health is a state of wholeness and harmony, and living in divided and unharmonious social environments makes us unhealthy. We cannot expect society to become healthy in order for us to become healthy individuals. The more we can self-heal as individuals, the more we’ll be empowered to improve the health of our relationships and social environments.
